Makeup artist and purveyor of fine cosmetics, Francois Nars, is about to release his third book, 15×15, a coffee table tome that celebrates his two passions: makeup and photography - he personally did the makeup and photographed every portrait.
The book (which gets its name from 15 years cheers to Nars and 15 celebrity portraits), combines iconic images with classic Nars products. For example, Marc Jacobs re-enacts a Richard Avedon photo from the ’60s wearing Nars Dovima nail lacquer. It’s a clever combination.
There are also appearances by supermodels Amber Valetta, Naomi Campbell, Natascha Poly - plus actresses Isabella Rossellini, Dayle Haddon and Lisa Marie Smith.
The proceeds will be distributed among the 15 charities chosen by the stars.
