istock_000007982515smallHere’s something for those health fanatics who pop several pills a day - a little red pill that has three wrinkle fighting antioxidants and improves skin elasticity. First reported on Daily Mail online - it’s due to be released in the UK soon and is already available in some parts of Europe and South America.

It’s called Inneov Fermete and is from L’Oreal and Nestle who have collaborated to jump on a new trend emerging in the beauty world - cosmeceutical’s that you swallow - that work from the inside out.

It’s star ingredient is Lycopene, a red carotine pigment from tomatoes which has been modified so that human cells can absorb and use it effectively. Combined with Vitamin C and Isoflavones (from soy beans) - these three antioxidants work on a cellular level to repair damage.

The pills were tested on two different groups of women - those who were post menopausal, age range 51-69 (90 women in total) and those with an average age of 45 (70 in total). Some were given Inneov Fermete and others were given a placebo. Those who took the real deal had an 8.7% improvement in skin elasticity - not a massive amount by still an improvement nonetheless.

It won’t be cheap - when it does reach the counter in Britain it will retail for about £25 for a ten-day supply. Considering the manufacturers suggest taking it for a minimum of three months before seeing any visible results, it will require an initial investment of at least £250 or so.

Yet it could be just the ticket when combined with an effective topical treatment. And when it comes to beauty and fighting the signs of ageing, most women will give anything a shot.

At this stage there are no plans to release in New Zealand or Australia.

Would you try it?
