Describe your job:
I do a mishmash of ‘beautiful’ things. I am a beauty writer, freelance makeup artist and I also speak at Highschools about inner and outer beauty. I love it because everyday is so varied and also because I get to meet people from all over and talk beauty face-to-face.
What are your New Year beauty resolutions?
To take my make-up off every night. No exceptions!
What’s your usual daily makeup routine?
Cleanse, tone, moisturise/prime. Light foundation, concealer, blusher/bronzer (Thin Lizzy 6-in-1!), mascara then pawpaw gloss.
Does it take you long to get ready?
I have my routine down to 30 mins.. quicker if need be
What would you do if you had more time to get ready?
I would start with my eyes, and add more colour and definition, blending colours together to create a fun look. I’d also colour in my eyebrows to shape them nicely and use brow gel to tie it together. I love groomed brows!
What’s your favourite evening look right now?
I have always have loved colourful smokey eyes with liquid liner and jet black mascara. It’s a look I love to do on myself.
Are you an eyes or lips girl?
Definitely an eyes girl.
Favourite nail polish colour?
Something in the red, or tangerine colour palette
Long nails? Or short?
I love my nails filed short with a slight square tip and a colour burst!
What’s the one beauty product you’ve used for years and can’t give up?
Lucas’ Pawpaw Miracle Gloss - perfect to travel with and use for everything, everyday!
What are you searching for?
I am searching for the ultimate DIY faux tanning set or product that I can use myself to get an incredibly natural
and gorgeous looking tan.
Which fragrance/s are you wearing and why?
I have many, I switch between by Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci. My most memorable and favourite would be Christina Aguliera’s first signature scent - I wore it around the time I first met my boyfriend and the perfume takes me back each time!
What beauty faux pas are you always committing - even though you know you shouldn’t?
Having hot showers and then being lazy not moisturising afterwards.. dry skin much?!
Best beauty advice you’ve ever read/heard?
To combat puffy, sore, morning eyes place two spoons in the freezer and apply over the eyes. Feels divine too!
If you could turn back time, which hair/makeup disaster would you avoid making?
My short answer is, lots. I try to remember that makeup/hair is fun to play with, so I can live with my disasters. One I wish I had not committed was trying to shave my eyebrows instead of plucking them when I was 12 or 12 - shudder.
What advice would you tell the younger you?
It is okay to follow your dreams, whatever they may be - the world needs more people who are passionate and truly love what it is they do.
What trend are you considering trying…?
Getting a blunt thick fringe cut in. I think it’s time to revive my hair for winter, this may be just the thing!
