The show’s theme was Victorian and following from this the makeup drew on mourning and codes of fashion. The skin looked nude and dewy, M.A.C artists used Studio Sculpt Foundation. The cheeks were just as out there as they look in the pictures. Like whoa, hello bright cheeks. Yet from the catwalk they weren’t quite as strong. Definitely a stage look. Amber D blended Devil, Pink Swoon and Full Fuchsia to get that pink blast. On the lips she created the colour using white lipmix, orange alarm cream colour base - these are all Pro products. Brows were groomed and fixed with clear brow set.
Hair - Lauren from Stephen Marr (not in photo obviously, not sure what this guy’s name is).
Again the inspiration drew from the Victorian period, but with a modern twist. Taking sections the team twirled and pinned the hair into loops. The hair had to be dead straight first for the sleek finish and of course the centre part and loops over the ears were paramount to translating the Victorian period. On the top, Lauren created a shiny goop and painted it on with a paint brush from a hardware store. This finished the look with a high shine and gave it an edge. It looked cool but it also looked like a real mare to get out of the hair and if I was a hair stylist working on the next show, I’d probably be a bit gutted but nevermind. Who cares really, it looked cool so that was the most important thing.
