stick it to ya!

00540mWhen you consider who would typify the Chanel wearer - especially the tweed suit, pearl necklace and quilted bag items that personify the brand - it’s hard to imagine them wanting to adorn a transfer tattoo to their fake tanned limb.

Yet that’s exactly what Chanel is selling in March.

First seen at the SS RTW 2010 show, Chanel has decided to recreate 55 of the tattoos by creative director Philip Green. It’s a far cry from Jade nailpolish isn’t it?

Yet there’s something endearing about these skin markings and for those too timid to do the real thing, a fake one - albeit with a bit of branding included - is the perfect option. Even a classy option.

These won’t be bubble gum cheap - at $AU90 - these are truly for those who take accessorising seriously. All in the name of fashion. There’s an oddly tribal aspect to them - worn on the runway these chain-like tattoos were around (stick thin) thighs. Personally my current favourite tattoo spot (not that I have one) is the wrist. But I’m sure you can use your imagination with where you adhere them.

The Trompe L’Oeil de Chanel will be available at the Chanel Makeup Studio, Myer Sydney and the Chanel Fashion Boutiques from March 2010. Should you wish to put your name down on the waiting list call AU 1300 CHANEL.

Will you? What are your thoughts on tattoos?
