To The Beach. Now!

Oh Summer, you are but a distant memory. Those languid days in shorts and singlets, sea salt dripping off our nose as we surface from the ocean and the refreshing zing of cold beer. Now that winter has shaken us with her icy grip and torrential rain, our good friend Summer seems so far away. Oh to be back at the beach.

Unless you’ve got a tropical holiday booked, you probably won’t have any reason to think summery thoughts. Until you walk into a MAC store and spy a gorgeous new range of lippies, shadows, blush, gloss and eye pencils. MAC’s To The Beach collection hits our shores on June 14 and features pretty corals or pink blushes, eyeshadows in varying shades of green and lipsticks with a golden sheen.

It hardly seems fair that these shades are available when our balmy weather is non-existant - it’s that common problem we face when the collections are released to tie in with the Northern Hemisphere seasons - not ours. I’d stock up for Spring. My particular hit for this collection? The cream bronzer, lustre drops of infamous MAC To The Beach Body Oil, $52, that I’ve seen Senior Artist Amber D tweeting about for ages. She LOVES it.

And while I don’t recommend dosing yourself with tonnes of bronzer in winter, I’d keep it handy for warmer days and dust it across the face and decolletage very lightly. You need to be mindful that bronzer does not equal a tan in a compact - so don’t try to replicate one with it.
