a great event

This morning I am playing hair and makeup with my good friend Stephie who is off to the premiere of Lovely Bones. She worked on the film so it’s going to be a great night for her.

For her shoulder length hair, I’m going to blow dry it as straight as possible and then run the straighteners through it with a curl at the end. I do have a curling tong as well so I’ll see what she thinks. But even before that I’ll rub through Kerastase Chroma Thermique - a product that I can’t believe I ever lived without before as it’s essential for looking after hair pre-heat tools.

We did a makeup test last friday - she drove home with one eye done.  First we played with smokey eyes using a couple of great products from id bare minerals - Glimmer shadow and Skyline (a gorgeous grey/blue). But one product I’m quite excited about is L’Oreal Paris Color Appeal shadows - they are creamy but dense with colour and provide the perfect shimmer. Then lashings of M.A.C kohl in Feline (black). However she might go for red lips so we’ll see what the  mood takes us.

I can’t remember the L’Oreal colour I gave Stephie to use in her crease but I’m staring at L’Oreal Color Appeal Golden Shimmer on my desk. Gold eyes are a huge hit this season - Lancome Declaring Indigo has a gorgeous gold palette and so does Estee Lauder Sensuous Gold. More about that later though. . .

Given it’s the party season and all that jazz what are you doing with your evening makeup? Version of smokey eyes? Rock n roll eyes? Or nude eyes and red hot lips?
