Nicole goes red and curls

After her winning side bun at the Grammy’s, Nicole Kidman decided to choose a completely different look for the SAG awards.

She went from brunette to a warm Gingered Toffee Red. The inspiration came from a unique period wig that had various tones of ginger - to copy this and to match it best to Nicole’s porcelain skin tone celebrity hair colourist Lorri Goddard-Clark created this colour. She used a combination of deposit-only colour, her signature foil out reverse highlighting technique and a sulphate free glaze.

Her hair stylist, David Babaii created her gorgeous flowing locks. Want to give a bash? Here’s how…

image0041. Towel dry hair and spray Bohemian Beach Spray, $23.70 throughout.

2. Roughly dry hair with hands to create texture.

3. Create a centre part and divide hair into four sections (sides, back crown and nape).

4. Start at nape, alternate between 1″ and 1 1/2″ ceramic curling tongs, taking V shaped partings. Wrap hair around tong and hold for 10 seconds.

With each alternating curl, David slid his fingers up the curl to gently create a soft back combing effect and enhanced texture.

5. Using fingers, add a light spray of Bohemian Beach Spray to loosen curls and highlight colour.

What do you think of Nicole getting loose with her hair? Like it? Copy it? Or do you prefer her prim-and-proper with an up-do?
