How - Hair

Stolen Girlfriends Club

_mg_1901The inspiration for Stolen’s 10th collection ‘Welcome to Nowhere’ was a ‘nomadic biker gang of sherpa mountain climbers and their kidnapped glamorous trophy girlfriends,’ says the press release.

Reflecting this the hair was ‘wavy with a dry, dusty texture and features a braid across the whole front of the hairline,’ explains hair director Greg Murrell. ‘There is some height at the top with the volume through the sides being reduced by the addition of two plaited headbands made from hair which contrast slightly in colour to the natural hair. This is designed to fit the theme of nomadic abandonment.’

2. Dry hair using a dryer, taking care to keep it in the twists. When dry, repeat the process to build up the product texture.

3. Take a 1.5 inch wide section just in front of the right ear and start braiding a two strand twist across the front hairline towards the left ear and ending at the nape. Fasten the end of hte braid with a clip to prevent unraveling.

4. Back-brush to the roots on the top of the head for volume. Place hair with your hands and then place the first headband in position and the high recession, wrapping it around the head. Take the second headband and place it just behind the right ear and wrap it to the other side. Fix both in place by sewing. Finish using KMS California Dry Wax for texture.

img_1767Amber D for M.A.C wanted to give the impression of girls tinged by the sun, so put a slight red hue across the cheeks (using Rich Coral and Pink Shock Cream Colour Bases highlighted with Pearl Cream Colour base and Silver Fog pigment). Eyes were kept neutral with Groundwork Paint Pot and Amber Lights eyeshadow and lips were pared back with Lip Erase, Rich Coral Cream Colour Base and Pink Shock Cream Colour Base.
