For Fall, at the house of Dior, Galliano was inspired by behind-the-scenes documentary photographs taken more than half a century ago of Dior dressing his cabine of mannequins for shows. Pat McGrath complimented the clothing with dramatic makeup with ladylike glamour echoing the 1940’s styles - of which the ‘moon’ style manicure was popular.
I’m sure I spied Britney Spears with a moon manicure in the latest NW magazine - it’s a look that is hard to achieve on your own and best applied by a professional. If you dare to, try cutting out half moon shapes with stickers and putting them over the moon part of your nail first. Then coat with varnish. But, if like me, you suck at even attempting a straight line with a french colour, ditch the DIY and go to your nearest manicurist.
