Estee Lauder’s gorgeous holiday gift compacts are steeped in history with the brand - the first pressed powder compact was created in 1963 and since then, every year, new ones are released. In 1967 the first solid compact was produced - the Youth Dew Boutique Oval Compact. Since then hundreds! (770 to be exact) original designs have been made and collected.

To make these highly covetable pieces, over the years Estee Lauder has teamed up with numerous artists including  Judith Leiber and Jay Strongwater, who designed the 2009 pieces.

These limited edition perfume and powder compacts are utterly gorgeous with luxurious jewel tones including sparkly bits from Swarovski. Tiny, intricate, ornate and oh-so-collectable the entire collection is archived at Estee Lauder’s headquarters in New York and is sometimes shown around the world.

This is the perfect mother or mother-in-law present.
