forever friday: L’Oreal Studio Secrets

lindaresurfacing-primerWhen one of the world’s biggest consumer beauty company redirects their attention to professional quality products, you know you’re in for a treat. Because mass size does count when it comes to R&D.

L’Oreal Studio Secrets Professional is inspired by supermodel Linda Evangelista who says after years of working with the world’s best makeup artists she wanted to do her own. Collaborating with L’Oreal was a no-brainer, the gorgeous Canadian born ubermodel has been a spokesmodel for the company for many years.

Studio Secrets is not only a well thought out collection of must-have beauty products, it’s also presented in very easy how-to packaging. There’s instructions - you’re not sent home with the products and then left to fend for yourself in the bathroom. The lip and eye colours are also categorised by basic hair/skin tone type to make finding that right shade that much easier when you don’t have a counter consultant hovering to help.

The range covers eyes, lips, skin tone and texture and foundation and in keeping with the times, it includes state of the art technology so that should you end up being interviewed in the street for one of the news channels, you’ll look flawless on HD televisions.

I wore the Studio Secrets Smoothing Resurface Primer for a week and I noticed that it helped my currently dry skin appear smoother and was the perfect base for foundation to adhere to. It comes in a little pot, is pink and is light and goey at the same time. Most importantly it feels great and is the first primer I’ve really liked. Here’s a handy tip from James Kaliardos - apply it the shadowy areas on your face, like under the eye or by your ears; on your forehead, sides of nostrils and around the mouth. Basically the opposite places you would apply highlighter.

There are primers for all skin concerns - anti shine, anti dull (so it luminates which would be a very handy product to wear after a big night out) and an anti redness primer. The foundation is a high definition liquid that is easy to apply thanks to the brush attachment at the end.

So from the model who once quipped that she wouldn’t get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day comes a makeup range that’s affordable and effective - and easy to use. Saving you perhaps an extra 10 minutes snooze time in the morning?

Have you tried this? What do you think?
