forever friday: strobe cream

M.A.C Strobe Cream, $55, has been around for ages… it’s first use was professional, makeup artists use it on shoots when they want to get really shiny, luminous skin; but it’s been on counter for many years and is a (not so) secret must-have.

It’s got a bunch of botanicals to give tired, stressed and flat skin a much needed boost plus it brightens with iridescent particles. These particles reflect light - both natural and unnatural and create a sexy shimmer. It’s not an every day wear - it’s better used once a week when you really need it.

Use it in place of your usual moisturiser, or on top of and apply to just cheek bones and on the forehead - anywhere where you want reflection. But it can be worn all over the face. Just have a play and see which you prefer.

It’s perfect to slap on after a night out - when hungover skin needs a bit of a lift, and it’s great to wear at night when you want to put your best face forward.

It’s also awesome to use under a tinted moisturiser (as I have today), giving your skin a bit of natural-looking shimmer.

Luminous skin is the NEXT BIG THING, it’s skin that look healthy and that has a bit of a shimmer to it - almost other worldly. It’s skin that is supposed to be natural but is in fact not. And this is one of those perfect products to allude to that.
